These are images from my undergraduate thesis exhibition entitled 'Accretion."
This work centers around my exploration of the transformative process of repetition and saturation. That is, the transformation from an individual entity to an arrangement of individuals, and finally to a mass of individual arrangements. I am exploring this progressing in the context of the body, emotional patterns, natural occurrence and how patterns formed by the human body, mind or heart can easily be found comparable to those that make up the physical aspects of the natural world.
The work itself emphasizes an exterior saturated experience, consisting of a fabricated environment. I consider the components of the installation to be the product of a reenactment of several arrangements that are, or that emulate naturally occurring structures and systems.
Formally, this work navigates an interior body/mind space as an exterior environment through which a body can move. Also, while exploring the complexities of texture and "text"ure, it addresses text as image: text as quality of line.
